My natural father gave my OBC to my adopting parents when he relinquished me to them in 1956. My adoptive mother threw my birth certificates and adoption papers at me when I was 18 years old just days after I was found by siblings she did not want me to ever know.

Even though I have had my OBC in my possession since 1974, I am still legally banned from receiving a certified copy of my true birth certificate from New York State.

My legal birth certificate says I was born to a woman who actually adopted me. All adoptees have legally falsified birth certificates.

All adoptees should have unrestricted access to their certified and true birth certificate.

Automatically issuing falsified birth certificates upon the finalization of adoption should be illegal. Falsified birth certificates should be replaced by truthful Certificates of Adoption.

and

All natural parents should receive a birth certificate for the daughter or son they created and gave birth to.

and

Siblings should never be permanently separated by adoption.

and

Adoptive Parents should never lie to their adoptees about the serious truth of one's birth and existing siblings, and all known details of that adoptee's life, including the knowledge of parental death for timely and appropriate grieving.
